Public announcement: locations URC & Fjord - KOTOR

This is a public announcement regarding the articles in the daily newspaper “Vijesti” on June 6th and 7th 2006, about the construction of new hotels located at “URC Slavija” and the existing hotel “FJORD” in Kotor.

As an organization concerned with space and promoting its values, we wish to bring to public attention these issues which, in our opinion, might pose a serious threat to Kotor and the Bay of Boka Kotorska as an exceptionally valuable space within Montenegro.

PRESENTATION OF A MASTER’S THESIS: AWAKENING PERAST

We welcome you to the presentation of Jelena Pejković’s Master’s Thesis, completed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in December 2005. The topic of her work is „Awakening Perast: Interconnecting Past and Present Architecture in a Historic Town” and her thesis states that starting a Conservation school and dispersing it through Perast’s ruins would contribute not only to the awakening and the development of this town but also to the affirmation of contemporary architecture in the town’s historic texture. The lecture will be held at the Museum of Perast, on August 10, 2006 at 20:00. Jelena Pejković graduated from Harvard University in 2003 cum laude with a special concentration in Architecture and Urban Design. During her graduate studies she was a representative of MIT at the Renzo Piano Building Workshop in Paris. WELCOME!

INVITATION TO THE SEMINAR: SUSTAINABLE BUILDING IN MONTENEGRO

Within the campaign "LOOK AROUND – THINK ABOUT SPACE!” a seminar “Sustainable Building in Montenegro” will be held in Cetinje, from 24 to 27 August 2006. The seminar is intended for young experts engaged in civil engineering – architects, civil and mechanical engineers, as well as students in these fields, who live and work in Montenegro.

Posljednja aktivnost u okviru kampanje „Gledaj oko sebe – razmišljaj o prostoru!“, koju je EXPEDITIO pokrenuo u aprilu 2005. godine (u trajanju 18 mjeseci), a finansirala Evropska unija posredstvom Evropske agencije za rekonstrukciju iz Podgorice, je objavljivanje publikacije „ODRZIVA GRADNJA – Evropska dokumenta iz oblasti održivog prostornog razvoja“.

ARTICLE ON EXPEDITIO IN THE MAGAZINE A10- NEW EUROPEAN ARCHITECTURE - #11

The magazine A 10, #11 (September – October 2006) published an article about the activities of EXPEDITIO aimed at raising public awareness of a better quality living environment in Montenegro. A10 is a magazine that provides a concise and up-to-date survey of the latest developments in European architecture, from the Arctic Circle to the Mediterranean Sea. PARTICIPATION IN A SEMINAR IN BAVARIA, GERMANY

n the period from 20 to 25 November 2006, a representative of EXPEDITIO, Zorica Tomanovic, participated in a seminar "Practice and Experience on Regional Development Concepts for South Eastern Europe", that was held in Parsberg, Bavaria, Germany.

PARTICIPATION IN the PULA FESTIVAL OF BOOKS AND AUTHORS – DREAMLIKE BOOK FAIR IN ISTRIA

A representative of our organization participated in the 12th Pula Festival of Books and Authors titled “Dreamlike Book Fair in Istria”. Our organization made part of the official delegation of Montenegro, at the invitation of the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Kotor.
